  • Fall Fest – Parents and students were HAPPY! Lots of fun. Seemed like old times. The leftover crafts will keep until next year. This is the most money we have ever raised from it ever! Thanks to the middle schoolers who raised $125 or so in cash just for donations! Square reader worked fine—nice to have! —we had at least 100 kids (totes handed out was 85) so it was a big group. FYI: We can't use Venmo without an EIN.
  • Honor roll – Taffy will pick up ice cream for next Wed 11/17. In-person with ice cream social. We provide toppings. 2:45 pm ceremony, ice cream at 3.
  • Holiday baskets/winter concert – 12/21 for concert; we can still do basket raffle.  Baskets will be in the gym, stations in the gym. Lisa will distro letters to teachers. New teacher is Mrs. Fiehwig (2nd). 8th does gift cards. All classes are themed (the teachers and kids decide). Class that gets the most  tickets gets a pizza party. Other classes can do gift cards since they are so popular, perhaps in a theme or including gift cards (We have almost 100 $5 gift cards to Uncle Harry's). Pick theme by Nov. 12, letter goes home by 11/17, Baskets due by 12/10 (that week+ before concert, we will put baskets together and post pics online to promote).
  • Penguin Patch: Joane is waiting to hear but anticipated dates are: setup on 6th, sell 7-8-9th. We split up classes last year, we could do it fewer days. Do it in library—Thank you Kelli for allowing us the library.
  • recap: speaker-GREAT! Kids and teachers loved it. Powerpoint was good, his wife played music. Backstory: when he was in high school he worked in manufacturing and a piece of the equipment came down on his arms. Then he went on to play football the next fall, All State. He expected the coach to give him a water but his coach told him to figure it out, which he did. The kids tried to do it, too. Great message!
  • What about for the younger kids? -  Racine Zoo or Kohl's Wild Theater?  youtuber/Betty Brinn performer? Val will investigate that for cost.
  • Tees for new students – Last week KV handed them out, 4k'ers are wearing the new shirts.  $197.70 – mail straight to Maple Ave. (check with Taffy)
  • A spirit wear order is happening for families soon!
  • Cookbooks – Lisa checked with 6-7 people who haven't paid yet, Joane also texted with one parent. We have a few left and will put them out at the concert. Dawn wants to buy one and put it into the baking basket!
  • Giving Tree donation: These are usually the profits from the kid shop (Penguin Patch). Jodi Miller talked to Kelli about it (so that Yakers can contribute to the community for holidays). Norway Lutheran Church will also support the families, Kelli is feeling out the families to see who needs what.
  • New fundraiser (MKE pretzels) – let's shift it to spring since we have the other events going on. We would get 50% profit and it is local!
  • Open floor – thanks from Kevin to PTO and Briens for Fall Fest!
  • Family directory – add update in newsletter with deadline, with a link and directory – 29 responses so far, and Lisa has 3 pages to add from registration. (Lisa will send a flyer to Joane to review, then to Karen & Sue that includes info about the basket raffle)
  • PTO will meet every second Monday til May at 6.

Adjourn! 6:43 pm
