December PTO Meeting Notes

Washington-Caldwell School PTO Meeting

December 12, 2022 at 6 p.m.

attending: Lisa H, Kelli V, Taffy M, Ashley W, Toby, Val (no Joane or Kevin)

Funds

BMO $52.24 checking (still waiting on getting our $295.66 back from fraud situation—Taffy will call them for an update)

$947.69 savings

Citizen’s – new account

Checking $4,220.30

Savings: $1,328.98

GagaBall donation: $500—we will write a check to W-C from PTO when our new checks arrive.

Penguin Patch follow-up: we made $482.98! It was a great week. They had to order more stuff and it was delivered fast. Kids really liked the items and we had the best sales ever.

Giving Tree donation – we will donate whatever amount Kelli needs for shopping ($400 max)

Student of the month – We are now doing Amazon gift cards instead of lunch ($10 each) – Kelli would like to buy all the gift cards at once, also for the teacher who nominates student of the month—we will do gift cards for them too—$420 total, they will be kept safely until needed.

Delivering takeout for the teachers—skipped this idea due to too much trouble/not worth it since everyone eats at different times and they are doing potlucks regularly also.

Holiday basket raffle setup—Setting the baskets up on the 19th at ~2pm in the library, we will ask teachers if they need more items and PTO can fill in as needed. Lisa will draft a letter for the teachers to let them know when we are putting them together and to be ready.

Boon Supply prizes delivered—Kids liked the prizes. They were good quality. We could do this every other year because it was such a good fundraiser.

Chill out—We will email Johnna and ask her what she needs for it, such as hot chocolate and candy canes, cups.

Photographer gift card—Joane was going to pick one up and get it to her. We will check with her. Val will try to do some FB promo for Holen's business, with thanks.

EIN—We can ask people for year-end giving and get matches from employers. This number will also be helpful at the spaghetti dinner when we ask for donations.

Thermometer—Due to our skyrocketing fundraising, rather than a series of incentives we are considering doing a fun thing where kids can get a special treat at the carnival, such as a snack or tie-dye station. Lisa has a contact for tie-dye or we might get our own setup. Ice cream truck? Ashley will look into it. WUHS and Burlington HS also share a transition program and they run Sweet Abilities ice cream. We will price it out.

Where will the gagaball pit go? Between the shed and the playground.

We will do a holiday breakfast on the 21st for the teachers.

When classes transition during the concert, we could select the basket winners from those classes between the acts.
