PTO board nominations

Lisa found the bylaws. No board member is to serve more than two consecutive terms in the same position. We did not get any nominations. So we will try again in Spring. We will talk up the board at all our events. We have all been on the board for several years! It would be nice to have a few parents to step up and help with the events even if not on the board.

Conference meals

We will be doing a taco bar and Teri and Taffy will set up. We will get the parents to sign up to help donating (Joane will create and send out right away). We can use our crock pots and school’s crock pots to keep things warm. We will request sides of rice and refried beans. Taffy will do the ground beef. We will also need a dessert, soda, and water.

Fall Fest

October 25, 5:30-7pm. Lisa has the poster from last year and will update it. This is another signup genius we have to do for helpers (set up/concessions/door/crafts/photo booth/raffle). We need to request candy donations. Joane will create it and send by Monday. Bubble fun buckets were purchased by Lisa. We can also ask parents to donate gifts for a few Halloween prizes. We don’t want to run short of candy! We also need to clarify nut-free candy on the posters.

We will buy pizza for middle schoolers who are setting up. Dousman bus company is coming with the Boo Bus and they might be willing to DJ. Sam from the bus company will play the spooky music in the gym as long as we have a sound system. Heather Spaugh offered to donate a bounce house but this event might be a little too crowded.

Fall fundraiser ideas

-Holen Photography (Cassie) offered to help out again for holiday photo shoots. 11/5, At Heg Park, 8-10am, $200 per family, 15 minute session for 25 images, 7 families. Need a signup genius by next week Friday.

-Donate old shoes which pays by the pound: funds2orgs.com KK Photography does it in Waterford – we will see if we can get this going a little later, after we find a good program.

-Coffee, chocolates (Seroogy’s from DePere is 50% on candy, 40% on coffee) – this would be good gifts. It’s a preorder form with 9 varieties of candy, 6 types of coffee. We need to have the final tally before we order, then we get the pickup date. We will request money due at the time of order so we can purchase the product. We want to have this go out ASAP (end of week) and get orders back by 10/23. Orders are due to Seroogy’s by 10/31. We could have an incentive so that the classroom who sells the most gets a treat, or the top seller will get a prize, or one of the teacher will wear a costume for a day! Maybe Kevin will die his beard!

-Ms. Stephens told us about a pledge for kids running laps (similar to Jump Rope for Heart). The gym teacher put it on. This could be something we do during a school day or after school with a glowstick run in the gym around the time of book fair (turn off the TV week).

4k family night followup

A handful of families. All the kids had fun, they got prizes, PTO did hopscotch and bouncy balls and they had prizes. They are doing family library nights once a month at Waterford library. Renee will keep us posted if there is something coming up. In August we had popsicles on the playground, a great opp to meet all the parents – everyone was there!

New student tees

Ordered, paid for (~$10/shirt), and delivered! Everyone loved them. New staff got them too. We are working on getting a new spiritwear vendor for school so we can order one-offs for new students who join midterm.

Lanyards for teachers

We like red and black for school colors. Order of 50 is around $250. That will give us extra for new teachers and visitor lanyards. Timeline is 3-4 weeks. We can pay on pickup. We will get them for the holiday as a small gift.

Student of the month

Kelli has a handful of ten dollar gift cards from us. They also have the check for the snack cart prizes.

Honor roll

The end of quarter is Nov 10, report cards on 11/17, honor roll will be 11/21. We will need a couple parent volunteers to serve.

Holiday baskets

First week of Nov we need to put out the flyer for donations. Teachers will need to pick their theme for the class. We do not have a date for the holiday concert yet. But we will accept the donations until into December.

Penguin Patch dates

December 4-8th, with setup on the 4th and sales on Tues/Wed/Thurs morning, take down and ship everything back. We will get a facility use form (Lisa). Library is busy with Spanish and reading, but we could possibly use the STEAM Lab to spread things out a bit more.

Open floor
